Hello, Skeeter; Not much problem removing the tank, and makes it a lot easier to work. First unbolt the seat from underneath rear, then unscrew the two bolts that hold the tank and seat clamp. Pull the two gas lines off,(one for priming, the other for running), unscrew the speedometer cable, then lift the tank a little to left to clear the gas valve and you will soon feel how the tank comes off, disconnect the electrial plug for turn signals and neutral light,(you will see it when you begin to lift the tank), and that's about it.
